Rep. Womack Calls for $300 Billion in Budget Cuts [View all]

WASHINGTON D.C. - The House Budget Committee, led by a Congressman from Arkansas, is moving forward with a plan that includes some major cuts.

But House Budget Chair acknowledges its chances of passing may be slim, event though Republicans hold the White House, and majorities in Congress.

The plan calls for $300 billion in cuts to programs like Medicaid, Medicare and social security--and an end deficit spending within the next decade.

"The time is now for congress to step up and confront the biggest challenge facing our society," says Rep. Steve Womack (R) 3rd District.
