NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Officials with the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) have reported that three people died and many more were injured as storms made their way through the state Friday night into Saturday morning.
According to a release, the deaths happened in Independence County where authorities said 29 people were also injured throughout eight different counties.

ADEM officials said that sixteen counties in Arkansas have reported damage including Baxter, Clark, Fulton, Greene, Hempstead, Hot Spring, Independence, Izard, Jackson, Lawrence, Nevada, Phillips, Randolph, Sharp, Stone, and Woodruff.
Most counties are still assessing the full extent of the damage, but reports indicate impacts to homes, businesses, and downed power lines and trees, the release said. We expect to receive more information throughout the day and will provide updates to the public as soon as they become available.
