in the late 60s. It was like something suddenly changed between 1967 and 1968, when we started to get brand new textbooks to replace textbooks that had been used for a decade or more. However, the Arkansas History textbook that we were using in 1970 was printed in 1955, so it didn't even cover the LR Central High crisis. I think it was finally updated in 1971 when Dale Bumpers became governor.
