I use the candidate statements to filter them out: if you can't be bothered to submit a brief statement, I can't be bothered to vote for you (and there is some comic gold in those statements - like the guy who claimed the country started going to hell after Franklin Pierce (no, didn't make sense to me either)). And if the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association is for a proposition, then I'm against it.

If you're a California voter and you're not getting one, contact either you county registrar or your state assembly person - there's a lot of valuable info in them
