Our house, in the Westville section of New Haven, is on sale for the high $300,000's. We bought it for $155k [View all]

We had a zoom meeting with our realtors, who earlier visited the property, and made a little video of it. They made a good presentation to us. Basically, we are in a sellers' market, our house having "high demand, low inventory." It's a 3 BR, 1 &1/2 bath, prewar Colonial. There are currently no comparable houses on the market. That's great. But at my age moving all our stuff (what we ARE taking) seems like a huge undertaking.

We are going to a Masonicare facility in Wallingford. Our apartment, while a 2 BR, 2 Bath, can't fit all of our furniture in. Fortunately, we have a moving company who will take on the job of sending our excess furniture to Goodwill. My daughters are overseeing this, mostly by supervising the movers (and talking me out of keeping "stuff&quot . I have a house cleaner who is showing no mercy on my saving old clothes and chatchkas (sp.?) scattered on my built in bookshelves. It's a bit of a nightmare selling "stuff" that I have fond memories of.

You get the picture.

If you have an interest in anything and are close enough to come and get it, let me know here on DU. I have a stationary exercise bike with adjustable difficulty levels that I won't be taking because I have plenty of opportunity for exercise at Masonicare.
