Everything you need to know about the snowstorm expected in the D.C. area [View all]

https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2025/02/10/dc-area-winter-storm-forecast-snow-map-timeline/

The second significant snowstorm of the season is poised to strike the D.C. area Tuesday into Wednesday. The Capital Weather Gang continues to predict 3 to 6 inches, although amounts could be a bit higher south of the Beltway.

The snow will probably begin Tuesday in the early to midafternoon in the Beltway area and a little before that in locations to the southwest. Conditions may rapidly deteriorate during the afternoon and evening rush hour, and it’s advisable to be off the roads before then.

The worst of the snow will probably occur Tuesday night, when visibility will be low and many roads will become covered with snow.

The snow should wind down during the predawn hours Wednesday, but many schools will probably close, and government operations may also be altered.
