blowing up history just because it doesn't fit with our current ethos never sits well.

We hated it when the terraists destroyed those mountain temples because they were some sort of sacrilege-- so how would we be that much different if we blew this up because it's a human rights "sacrilege".

How much history should we destroy-- from the pyramids built by slaves, to the Roman coliseum, where they fed slaves to the lions, to the mansions of the old South which were financed and built by slave labor...

Kill off the flag for sure, but to destroy monuments that will help future archaeologists and historians understand those times? Not really. Keep them as the monuments to the victims, if nothing else.
