siblings and I attended Dept. of Defense schools. We were warned every single school year that it was a crime for anyone to draw a swastika on school grounds (or the base where it was situated). Everyone was still shell-shocked over WWII and tension was building with the Soviet Union. In fact, the Berlin Wall was built the same year, and the army brat fathers spent a lot of time on maneuvers.
