And so would Jesse, Jr. have been, until he screwed up. In this kind of situation, people are used to not bothering to vote for their Congressperson, because it's a foregone conclusion. I'm sure that attitude, or rather habit, is coming into play in this special election, even though it's critical.

I can tell you, if there were a special election to replace Davis (say he retires), I'd be out there in a New York (oops, Chicago) second.
