Iowa City police offering reward for info leading to arrest of hate note author [View all]

Just saw this

Iowa City Crime Stoppers is now offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest for a threatening note left on the home of a Sudanese- American family.

The note read "You can go home now, we don't want n------ and terrorists here, #trump."

Amar Samel and his family - who are Muslim - found the note at home last week. In response, several neighbors have left flowers and messages of support for the family.

Police are investigating the note as a hate crime. Police say the note was left sometime after midnight on November 12th at the home on Prairie Du Chien Road. Police say they have no witnesses or suspects at this point.
