I don't see where any Republican governor has ever won a second term. This includes the most recent ones, Louis Nunn (1967 - 1971) and Ernie Fletcher (2003 - 2007).

Matt Bevin is not a popular governor. His constant pain in the side throughout his term as governor has been AG Andy Beshear. It wouldn't surprise me that Andy would run. The Beshear family love Kentucky. I feel very good about this matchup.
