18. Well, we stayed "blue" overall, but the state house did shift to red

from 73-61 Dems-Repubs in the 2012 election to 72-62 Repubs-Dems in the 2014 election.

So overall, we shifted from blue to somewhat less blue, but still blue. I'm sure glad the state Senate wasn't up for election -- they are up for election in years ending in 0, 2, and 6. Meaning their next 2 elections are in 2016 and 2020 -- both presidential election years, which is good for turnout. It's after that -- 2022 and 2026 and 2030 -- that are problematical -- 3 "midterm" election years in a row, ouch.
