National Park Service officials are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man and his dog who they say may have tried to navigate the Grand Canyon in a homemade raft. KLAS reports that a 2001 Toyota Tacoma belonging to 58-year-old Thomas Lee Robison was found at Lees Ferry on Sunday, but Robison and his pet Welsh corgi were nowhere to be found. The man from Santa Fe, New Mexico, "is believed to have attempted to travel down the Colorado River with his small dog on a wooden raft," the NPS says in a release.



LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Authorities are searching for a 58-year-old man who may have tried to take a small homemade raft down the Grand Canyon.

Thomas L. Robison of Santa Fe, New Mexico, may have taken his pet Welsh Corgi on the wooden raft, according to information posted by the National Park Service on the Grand Canyon website.

Robison’s 2001 Toyota Tacoma was found abandoned at Lee’s Ferry — just below Glen Canyon Dam — on Sunday, April 21.

The National Park Service is conducting a missing person search at Grand Canyon National Park.

Anyone who might have seen Robison is asked to contact Grand Canyon Dispatch at 928-638-7805. A missing person investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
