1. He doesn't have to worry about losing the General Election. His old job of bloviating at WABC radio is waiting for him the day after the Election.

2. Sliwa has consistently had contempt for Eric Adams. It would be personally satisfying to him if he lost the Election but still garnered more votes than Adams.
