Oil rig explosion near Frontier High School, Washington County [View all]

The students, faculty and building are ok. Six workers injured and transported to hospitals. One source says 5 injured. Multiple fire departments are at the scene. As of 5:30 p.m. today, the well was still burning. I dropped one of the grandkids off at their home, and even though the explosion site is over 10 miles away, I saw black smoke billowing from the area. In the link below, the well is described as an orphan well, and exploded when a contractor was trying to cap it. The well is on The Wayne National Forest land and the Ohio Dept. of Forestry has a team there as well.
