Poll: WA voters say Trump is negatively impacting their lives [View all]

Amajority of Washington voters say President Donald Trump is bringing the wrong kind of change to the country, according to a new Cascade PBS/Elway poll. And to many, the impacts of the president’s second term are personal.

Many respondents cited changes in their mental health, with more stress or worry about the future. Others expressed concerns about rising costs of living. Others mentioned the potential impacts Trump could have on the country’s democracy.

Some surveyed were pleased with Trump, calling his work “great” and said he was “keeping promises,” but many characterized their views in negative terms like “frightened,” “horrified,” “disaster” and “confusing.”

“By every metric in our poll, Trump is seen as having a negative effect on the country,” pollster Stuart Elway said. “A lot of people are feeling this personally, more so than last time.”
