2. I suspect Canadians are traveling to other places that are more welcoming to tourists.

One of the funniest things I heard early on was a snippet of an interview with a trump supporter (in florida, iirc) who's job is/was tied to the tourism industry, saying something along the lines of "Well, where are they going to for vacation then?" as if the u.s. was the only place in the world for people to go for vacation.
