Syrian refugees offer free haircuts for homeless

Mohammad Ali wants to pay forward the kindness he received when he first arrived in Canada.

The Syrian refugee and barber got his chance to do just that by offering free haircuts to homeless people at the Ottawa Mission Saturday afternoon.

Ali and two other professional Syrian haircutters participated in an initiative called Refugees for Peace - Haircuts for Kindness, which was organized by the Humans for Peace Institution. After Canadians opened their doors and hearts to Ali and his family, he said he felt it was only right to do something for those in need around the holidays. 

"I want to thank (and) give back to the community because the community provided everything to my family," said Ali.
