Years ago I worked in a mill that made a higher end furniture fabric. The fabric was treated for stain resistance before it left the mill. A bit later, when I bought a new sofa, the salesman tried to sell me the Scotch guard treatment package. I explained that I knew the fabric was already treated. He denied it. I was then told if I didn't get the treatment the stain warranty would be voided. What a crock...I never got the scotch guarding.
