Parted Magic is Linux based. it is not Windows friendly, that i can assure you.
So I recommend you AOMEI Backupper. it is a free SSD cloning software. it can clone within Windows XP or Windows 7. you can also use it to create a bootable USB drive, so you can boot from it to clone hard drive to SSD without loading Windows system.
