10. Are you talking about folders or files? If folders, do they have 'dim' looking icons?

If so, just ignore those. Somehow, you've unchecked the 'hide system folders and files' option for the drive. However, if you don't have those, then you don't have a 'file system' on the drive (though they are typically hidden from the users view in a Directory, they do need to be there whether you know about them or not). Their mere visibility to you now is almost surely NOT your problem, IMHO.

When you reformatted the USB drive just now, did you set it format using the NTFS file system, or the FAT32 system?

If you used NTFS, reformat using FAT32 and try this process again, let us know how it goes.

A lot of non-windows machines won't read NTFS properly, FAT32 is far more universal.

If problem continues, may be worth trying this: hold Windows button (between CTL and ALT) + E to bring up File Explorer. Choose the 'View' menu. To the right you should see a checkbox for 'Hidden Files'. If it's unchecked, then do nothing, but if checked, uncheck it, if those system folders disappear, then try moving the USB to the DVD player (with a video file on it) again.
