My iphone8 can’t go past ios 16, and newer apps will not download to it.

And yes, the C*** app seens to be updated once a month. They say for “features” but I suspect that it’s for security, updating some keys inside. (Just guessing)

The solution I have found for banking apps that obsolete your ios and phone is to access accounts via the web with the newest browser you can possibly find. Since browsers on the iphone (ios) are required to use the Apple mandated code inside, they are all basically the same, and Safari is kind of locked to the operating system.

You might have, beg or borrow a computer that will take a really up to date browser.

That said, I went to access my records (in CSV format) from my credit union and some browsers worked and some didn’t. Banks are not really in the software business. They do whatever works for most customers.

PG&E outright quit on one browser, which is completely up to date. Safari on Ventura, with extensions turned off for the site, worked. I don’t mind doing that for a site that is not going to spit out ads and malware. As for the rest of the internet, I block everything I can.

It’s all a moving target, and we have to move.
