I have used apps like TurboScan, which takes three photos and optimizes them automatically. Then you can choose the output format, whether jpg or PDF or others. Search your phone for "scan" to see if it's already a function of one of the apps.

However, in a pinch, you can take a picture of the photograph, holding the camera still and making sure the light is even, and the flash is turned off.
