https://ubuntu-mate.org/download/And I'm here to tell you that this is where Ubuntu should have been from 11.04 on. F* Unity and all its glory.
This is Gnome2 at its finest and it's an official release from the Ubuntu team.
I simply love it. Makes complaying fun again as I can customize as I want and do it without having to learn any computer talk, ie programing language.
ETA: here is the link for downloading 14.10 with mate already the gui. No Unity to be found on this version and its coming from the official Ubuntu folks, not an add on
