a person I just met. But that lady has been through the mill really worse than I have, and there's a certain special level of understanding from such people. I'm often in awe of how some manage to remain good souls when they've been through such trials by fire. I know my own experiences have let me off far easier than many.

And for better or worse, I pretty much stuck to things that are public knowledge already because they happened here. Whether I was holding back about the past to protect myself or spare my company or a combination of both, it was still very healing to have someone around who had no ax to grind with me and who has been through a lot more herself. January is my worst month every year, March is hers. She's a bit reclusive too, except for family, so neither of us is likely to become one of my most dreaded conditions, 'underfoot'.
