Barack Obama

Being POTUS has to be the toughest job there is.

I heard him in Los Angeles -- carpooled down there with a bunch of Dem friends who are active leaders here in Santa Barbara. I was very impressed -- he told the American Story very close to the way I've always told it to myself, if you know what I mean. I think I read his book after that and it blew me away.

I'm sorry to say that at the time I thought he was jumping in too soon, and initially I was rooting for someone else who looked more seasoned. California's primaries are really late -- a lot of people get knocked off the ticket before we get a chance to vote, including my original pick. Finally, for me it came down to Hillary and Obama, and I was really torn. Then she was out -- and I was thrilled to cast my vote in the primary election for Barack Obama.

I wish very much that I would have a chance to hear him in person again.
