1. Peacocks aren't wild in this country

Somebody either turned this guy loose, or he escaped. They can fly.

One of my fondest memories of being a kid and visiting my grandparents in South Carolina, was of their pet peacock. I'd lay in bed in the early morning, pine-scented breeze coming in the open window, and the peacock would be sounding off. They always said, he gets more noisy when he's looking for a hen.
