3. We had a peacock show up on our farm years ago

It terrorized the horses with its screams. Since it liked to roost on the peak of the roof, that meant there was no way to predict when it would scream and it was dangerous to anyone handling one of the spooked horses when it did.

I tried to get animal control to come capture it and they referred me to a wildlife rescue group (that the county had just decided to not fund anymore) - I refused to make them come out since it was a released domestic fowl not native to this country therefore it was not covered under the mission of the wildlife refuge charter.

One of my client's husband was a police officer and he volunteered to hunt the peacock and shoot it. He never managed to get close enough, but the peacock apparently found a new place to live because he didn't come back.

Peacocks are beautiful, but they are noisy and a nuisance. I'm glad there is no longer one here.
