whatever other emporium pissed her off --- "Well, what would you do?"

She was always right. Most of it was stuff, maybe $10.00. Maybe $50.00.

But then there was the time she found out my father was owed thousands of dollars from the township where he spent his working life as a laborer. Without a lawyer and after weeks of pestering, she walked out with a $7,000.00 check and continuing monthly payments for Medicare for as long as they lived.

"They owed it to us. Well, what would you do?"
