2. That reminds me of the damage tornadoes do.

I once saw a tree after the tornado had passed. Embedded in the tree were pine needles, sticking straight out. I know the OP isn't about lighting, but it does make you think about 'acts of God.' Every once in a while nature reminds us who's really in charge.
