3. My uncle and family moved to Florida in '49. We visited and he said Florida had an "open pasture" law.

Cattle were allowed free range. Farmers were not required to fence their animals and if one went on your property, you could "shoo" it but not harm it.

If the animal did damage, the farmer was responsible.
