...but, to be clear, we might not only lose Senate seats but control of the House unless Democrats actually show up for the midterms when we hold the White House as much as we do when we’re out of power.

That’s our Achilles heel as Democrats: either we get apathetic or disillusioned that our administration hasn’t accomplished everything we wanted, and stay home to “send a message.” This is one habit we have to break, if we’re not going to avoid a repeat of 1994 and 2010 (2014 as well) each of which guaranteed gridlock for the remainder of the administration’s term. Even if some of us feel disappointed that Biden may not have accomplished our preferred agenda items, we need to turn out, work, and give to the appropriate campaigns in 2022 just as strongly as we would had Mad King Donald won another term. Otherwise, our hopes are doomed to frustration.
