We need to prepare ourselves. I can't help but think there will be a pretty skinny Thanksgiving this year. Migrants aren't showing up to pick and process crops, and they also work the meat packing plants.
We are a little more sustainable here in Hawaii with our own food industries, including grass-fed cattle, and many of us grow food on our properties. We have avocado, breadfruit, orange, lime, lemon, mango, guava, and banana trees. We also grow chilies, tomatos, purple sweet potato, and herbs in pots on our lanai.
It is time for all of us to do what we can to not lose access to food.
