I'm a frequent lurker on the employment/job search boards on Reddit to track what's happening in the labor market (used to do that for universities). Their experiences are absolutely bleak. They are electronically shut out of the market altogether by applicant screening systems. I'm seeing tales of people submitting hundreds to thousands of resumes with no responses from humans. (TBH, they may be spamming job boards). I"m glad that the military can absorb a bunch of folks. The education and training is really good.

A lot of young folks are flocking to join ICE. Those are some of the best-paying jobs out there right now for non-college educated people. What a way to have to survive - becoming gestapo.

I've been following Ron Hira for years. He's a good labor economist who has been calling BS on industry announcing labor shortages in tech and/or other occupations. I think the real data will be called by individual researchers at this point, but I don't have a long list.
