ALBION, N.Y. Federal immigration agents stopped a bus of farmworkers on their way to work Friday morning and detained between 13 and 15 individuals, many of whom were leaders in a union organizing campaign at Lynn-Ette & Sons Farms, according to the United Farm Workers (UFW) union.
This morning, between 6:30 and 7 a.m., a group of workers who were traveling to work on a bus were pulled over and detained by federal immigration agents in the city of Albion, New York, said Antonio De Loera, communications director for the UFW. We are not sure if it was ICE or Border Patrol.
De Loera confirmed that all detained workers are employed by Lynn-Ette & Sons Farms, a company the UFW has been organizing at since 2023. Weve already been certified as representing a good chunk of the workers there, the seasonal workers who come in on H-2A visas.
