What right does he have to do this?

I don’t have to imagine the disappointment of these students and the people whose programs they were in. I had one of my assistantships canceled when I was in grad school and I remember the better disappointment. No funds they said. Budget issues.

After a sufficient amount of whining, screaming, and complaining to the right people, it was restored. But I recall how terribly disappointed I was and thinking what was I going to do with my future? It seemed like the end of the world.
