Almond Milk Labeling Not Deceptive, Federal Court Says (veg group) [View all]
Blue Diamond Growers beat back an appeal of a ruling that threw out a proposed class suit challenging the labeling of almond milk beverages.
Cynthia Painter alleged the products should be labeled imitation milk because they substitute for and resemble dairy milk but are nutritionally inferior to it.
But Painter didnt allege a plausible claim, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said Dec. 20 in an unpublished opinion.
Consumers wouldnt be duped into believing that Blue Diamonds almond milk products are nutritionally equivalent to dairy milk based on their package labels and advertising, the court said.

For angry omnivores who come here people don't think peanut butter is butter. People know peanut butter doesn't come from cows. People know oat milk, almond milk, soy milk etc are not from cows. I think most people who don't drink cow's milk do it because of lactose intolerance more than animal rights or climate change.
