Vegetarian, Vegan and Animal Rights

I like some of Bill Maher's stuff though he is not very popular here..he is a genuine promoter of humane issues and he is green...

There is other stuff that people understandably dislike but still...I am always grateful to anyone in the public eye who draws attention to our abysmal treatment of sentient living creatures...
No one is calling for a ban on meat etc. I am vegetarian solely because of the humane angle (and hope to be vegan some day). But I don't seek to impose that on everyone. But we do have to treat animal life with a baseline of respect and dignity and minimize cruelty wherever possible.
