That these engagements using "volunteers" from elements like SOCs of foreign countries.
No country is going to allow special operators to work as volunteers in, especially in a foreign country's conflict, even if they are retired, without some level of official government approval.
It's a very fine they are walking. I'm all for formal engagement by European forces though as long as it stays conventional.

I just think inserting smaller elements like this is not as effective as it could be with formal engagement of forces.
Unfortunately, given the ultimatum from UK, France and Canada to Israel over Gaza, they might not have the ability to fight two fronts without the US and I don't see us getting involved in either given this administration.
