Month after month of effort, invested to help explain to Trump the importance of peace through strength, the vitality of not conceding to Putin, the imperative not to betray Ukraine. Even the tortuous hours spend trying to penetrate his skull with the idea that Ukraine is the victim, not the perpetrator, and that they did not seek war and did not start the war.
