Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Friday approved the construction of 42 housing units in the West Bank settlement in which a 13-year-old girl was killed in her bedroom.
The tender was published a year and a half ago but was frozen after no contractors applied. The bidding process is now re-opened.
Sources in the Prime Ministers Office said that after a number of meetings in recent weeks on the topic it was decided Israel would set up a graveyard for Palestinian terrorists, and thus avoid returning their bodies to their families.
Israel has been reluctant to return the bodies of alleged assailants, citing fears their funeral processions would turn violent and glorify acts of terror.
