The US veto of the UN resolution was I think, purely based on politics and not real solutions.

The UK abstaining was also very telling.

At this point, can Hamas inflict any more damage?

How is it possible to accurately determine the damage to Hamas with further bombing?

How does continued bombardment help the hostage situation?

Maybe it’s time to let the dust settle.
