Police actually taking people out of their own apartments to jail for simply doing Sabbat rituals. The windshield of my car was completely broken, and then as if that wasn't enough, they got the back window, too.

Someone also called my work (a government contracting co) and told them I was a witch and who knows what all else. I do know I had to inform my boss that there really were witches in the real world, which kind of took him back a bit. Being a computer programmer, and fairly open minded and proud of our shared Irish and Scottish heritages, that went better than it might have otherwise. There was a bunch of other stuff, too. I lost two coven members when they were threatened with child services taking away their kids. At least I didn't lose my job. Others weren't as lucky. I think being govt contracting actually helped.

It was the early 80's and the Satanic panic still hadn't subsided in the Midwest...
