To enact these bans, the Trump administration has overruled experts from the mainstream medical and mental health professional organizations, siding with shoddy science and, when convenient, claiming to "protect" women.

If the Trump administration is successful in banning access to minors for even puberty delaying medications (not gender confirming hormones; and with parental support), they can and will use the same tactic to deny medication to trans adults, even those who have no other endogenous hormones.

Even more broadly, this is the path they have started to travel in their quest to outlaw use of mifepristone and other abortion drugs. Or, frankly, any drug which may be used for purposes they don't agree with, or by populations they wish to control.
