I am always worried about the detente with a subset of these guys.. .

I am really irked about the amount of noise pollution and worthless pseudoprogress in my neck of the woods.

I have decided to file complaints with the strictly non-kayfabe parts of the govt about it.
These days there are far too many theatre majors confusing the real thing with its (fugly) imitation, but still it’s not hard to find honest bureaucrats here.
It’s finding them and explaining stuff without encroachment by predatory hackers etc that’s the problem.

As a user of medical marijuana, I am always worried that my meds (which are in a grey area legally) could be used as extortion fodder by sexist and creepy men pushing the limits. I don’t know that such things happen, but my human imagination and experiences make wanting as far as possible to preempt stuff like that far from “crazy”.
I just like to do it anonymously because all the morons who want attention online are already online.

I was reading the always awesome Christopher Ketcham on the roadless rule. Sure this is an urban space. Another cool environmentalist Bittu Sehgal had said something similar years ago. Once your street is taken over by this junk, from there on it’s downhill all the way.

It’s not politics or entertainment. I am not Musk, Larry Page, Jack Ma, Zuckerberg, Ambani, Adani..
I have one street. Leave it alone. And all this traffic diverted here will mean they will want to widen the road next.

People like Christopher Ketcham, Nandita Bajaj, Yasha Levine, Evgenia Kovda, Nathan Robinson, Maria Bolotnikova etc are why I don’t entirely give up on the net outside of work.

I am a struggling academic scientist not an influencer or media personality. The time I lose to giant corporations’ nuisances or those of small creepy ones with no products or services, is time I will want back at the end of my life.

This is ironically a communist state. But these guys have never seen a sleazy business opportunity that destroys the environment or labor rights that they don’t like. The bus drivers don’t get paid but junk like art festivals with annoying locals coming in from the global north are considered a good idea.

Whatever the ism, with morons and creeps at the helm they are all the same and about controlling people and exploiting resources.

I am not shilling a rubbish online channel or mediocre and awful book about moronic experiences. Which sounds like the sort of entirely pointless drivel that is considered an economy by these nightmarish Google/Facebook/Musk style creeps or their equally awful analogs here with whatever left or right politician greased.

These are men who think that that “hawk tuoh” stuff worst case or some sad, lame thing is an economy. It’s not. Musk thought Thunberg has a “brand”. Thunberg is an activist. I am a mediocre and failed scientist. These are not brands whatever else they are.

It’s not the “evolution” of women’s roles to “realize” that science is for the big boys and some girls and the rest of us should be tradwives, influencers or crazy ladies. I think I have been slated for that last and well I mean..it is better than the first two I suppose. But it’s not even accurate.

And while I suppose I can vaguely see a comedic aspect to going and annoying some distracted, easily riled up woman..
After a decade of it and well..it’s kind of a one note joke.

I need to focus.

I don’t have a lawsuit I can file for compensation, a shitty tumor to sell etc. When I lose time or health or my resources, it’s just gone and it’s when it’s not even worthwhile.

The ceo of the small company I buy this very useful medication from is a decent guy and fairly good at managing. I would hate to annoy him or my doctor, because of these morons who ride their bikes up and down my street.

I try up to a point to not inflame needless gender or any wars. There will always be people of differnt views etc. But it’s when you start exploiting people, imposing etc that it becomes a problem.

I am not in the US and the local police are generally pretty chill. I file complaints with them, because I seriously don’t want these aggressive types of men encroaching (who are statistically a small number compared to random or decent men overall), but they do piss me off.

And there comes a point where, I don’t want to spend all my time on noise complaints.

As for marijuana, its archaic laws left over by the Brits that keep it illegal when alcohol (a known carcinogen) is legal.

I don’t do kayfabe. I try to maintain the peace up to point. That’s all. And beyond that, at a time when women’s rights are treated as an afterthought and rubbish AI and junk tech pile up with exploitative and rubbish data mining etc.

I can’t stand the thought of the delivery men who deliver food, meds etc and earn an honest living here being annoyed because these morons doing stunts one day break shit badly. That’s when your neighbors start hating you..

And besides I actually like them. They are some of the few humans I meet and they are always nice men. I don’t want them to be annoyed because of these “boys will be boys” morons. Working men have it hard enough here without a collection of sexist creeps trying to start shit.

I have never held with wars based on race, gender etc.

But as Carlin would put it: creeps, assholes, sleazebags etc no.
My street is not for morons who want to be in some lame photo-op or influencer crap. There is the whole wide world that you can and do turn into a sideshow. Please stay off my street.

I can’t tell apart real deliberate annoyances (thanks to various ill-conceived ways of doing things and space and attention grabs probably with low rent studies and tests tacked on which denigrate any actual real work in such areas) from anything that isn’t entirely atrocious. And unless the junk is checked, it will destroy everything. It induces apophenia/ Type 1 errors..

It’s generally annoying and I have decided to go to the parts of my govt to slowly and carefully file necessary complaints and make my own life and the life of anyone connected to me for real easier.

But such things have to be done meticulously and carefully. I supported the MeToo movement but not the media spectacle. And any false allegations harm the whole movement.

Thanks to this pretty awesome couple Yasha Levine and his equally cool wife Evgenia Kovda, I understand these things better. I had vaguely heard of situationist internationale but when I read The Society of the Spectacle, it immediately clicked why while I always was supportive of the core point of non-inane movements, the way they go on social media descends into pure spectacle and theatre.

I have more sympathy for the rare actors who don’t lean into celeb culture like Christian Bale these days. It used to be that only people in entertainment had to worry about that.

But with this truly atrocious present take on AI and social media dominating the net, the thought of that ad and disinformation and bot laden thing becoming that idiot Zuckerberg’s metaverse ..yeah no.

The same way that classified work should not be carried on beyond all sense and reason to have spooks and creepy defense contractors grab space and data, democracy is not kayfabe or a spectacle.

As Ketcham pointed out about the last wild spaces, let me put it this way, all the people who want to be on social media and go viral etc are already doing it.
I don’t think that stuff changes the world..it just turns every space into a junk heap.

I am not a wealthy oligarch who can buy an island and I am not permitting this rubbish on my street without vociferous pushback..well I mean..preemptively.
I am alarmed at the notion of the awful hideous garbage that is the net bleeding into real life at the inane “move fast and break worthwhile stuf and promote garbage” way these tech morons do things.

Technocratic capture takes people by surprise at first and then people slowly adapt.

These guys are always at the edge of disaster and getting rid of regulatory agencies and trying to game reality doesn’t work.

I am not a politician nor a media personality. I don’t like to post about it, but there is no damn thing except this inane hyperlibertarian or pseudo populist theatre.

I guess in America you guys are pretty embattled that way right now. Here it is not that bad yet. I came here to avoid this sort of drivel and all I am saying is stay away from my home and street and go annoy just about anyone else.

I am getting pretty pissed off. I try to handle it with humor some ;-/.
I know men have problems or something. Well so do I, so cut it out. I don’t know who these guys folllow to build this picture of a super entitled feminist who oppresses the male creep ..I don’t know.. some bs. That’s not reality. However, I have suffered the growth of some pointless looking junk for years and it usually tries to deflect blame and hog credit. That’s not how adult life works except for oligarchs and politicians.

Unfortunately they get away with it. You and I can’t. I try to pay my dues to society. I try not to be a pill about it but seriously I can’t stand constant shit stirring and noise making and in general being a complete damn nuisance and then scapegoating me as some sort of insane person.
There’s no Fenn’s treasure. This street is not one you want to come to. A crazy lady lives here..no really..
A damn embarrassment..this entire damn planet.

Yeesh . I like to keep conflicts minimal and targeted, but it’s a bad idea to assume that because I loathe media spectacles and am aware that errors can be damaging for the very things one values, still..there’s a tendency I notice to push it and that’s not always a good idea.

There is a difference anyway between authentic (!) youthful male stupidity and ill-conceived herding and rubbish using bots and other junk. In fairness, I don’t know.
But this overpopulated planet and the morons who pass for leaders of technology and the absence of any kind of sane tech press and ..


Well…I could go on and on. But I am trying to streamline this.
It reminds me of a professor who was really cool who used to manage this shared instrument and peopel would keep breaking it.
When these lousy data and AI sciences ramp up and our homes and streets become your instruments, please don’t send poorly trained dimwits in everywhere.

My street and home are not for ads or for defense contracting etc. If I permitted anything on my land it would be climate studies of the highest (;-/) calibre.
I hate being stuffy and pompous but it’s impossible to coexist with complete morons.

And you can’t impose rules like these implicit when there appears to be no safety and the user has to decide what to do. One conclusion is that people should stop all digital media use or net. I was never a big booster of net or the media.
But you do need it some ..so accountability lies with tech companies not users of tech.

I try to sound less annoyed than I am since :a) I am not entirely sure..at this rate, it would be impossible to tell anything worthwhile from real junk and b) I myself dislike snooty, pompous pills and now I have to be one. I used to be on the receiving end of lectures like these so it’s a statement on how low rent tech is as opposed to normal science and medicine that I look at stuff like this and go “how do you just get away with more of this trash the bigger you are? It should be the other way round. That’s less damaging societal”. The private sector can just get away with anything including exploiting taxes paid by citizens way worse then the much maligned public sector.

But it’s not a good idea to keep peddling awful low rent crap and it shouldn’t be an “add-in”.
Internet use or tentative marijuana legalization or any non sucky tech should not have to have as a package deal a collection of creeps, morons and bots.

I look dourly at my phone company’s app and its stuffed with offers for hideous rubbish no one will buy and I think morosely that the way these corporate creeps think- if 99.999% of the public is not bothered (and they never are till it bites them in the butt ), 0.009% are the morons who like shit like this (hyperscale! Cheap junk!) then the 0.001% of us who get it are then collateral damage and that’s okay.

Well I am sick of that and I am filing complaints with the state carefully and meticulously off camera in due course.

I was reading these hideous pieces on substack..and these guys like the sound of their own voices. It’s why i..I don’t want to weigh in on anything.
Just go away.

And what is especially is this thing that is stupid enough to one day be a thing where morons go around doing real world Capcha to verify if various annoyed people tangled up in tech are bots or not.
This ai gold rush would go there. Here’s the thing. Maybe people have really stupid ideas like the net is full of bots..trash substack twitter etc. Not places like du.
And if you think someone is a bot come to life like that ass Blake Lemoine would assume because of these various poorly conceived things and it turns out to be what it is, a pissed off woman, you will get into trouble.
So teaching moment..it’s not an elaborate MeToo jail bait bot. Though if that would keep these idiots away…
And when it is a real female, then you don’t get a prize, you get a harassment complaint and there is no teaching moment etc. All it is that you annoyed someone and wasted their life and time and now they will see that you learn not to do that.
This is why they need better laws protecting data and besides at this rate it will lead to ransomware.

I don’t think vaccinating or ransomware patches are enough. They need to ban wet markets, factory farms and data farms and junk ai before it breaks everything not after..

Yeah I am not holding my breath. It doesn’t take second sight to see that chaos are all that will result from it. It’s shocking to me that all the things that I saw as very negative in my own working or living style get a pass if it’s a creepy millionaire or billionaire..

So lame..please just stay off my street and don’t annoy my small network.
