2. My periodontist tells me to brush and floss 4x per day for exactly this reason.

Morning on wakening, after lunch, after dinner, and before bed. I do all of it except I floss only after lunch and before bed.

You can brush with just water. Use toothpaste before bed, and a mouthwash without alcohol - the CPC based ones are good.

Just brushing action with water removes that sticky, slimy bacterial film on your teeth and gums.

Use a soft toothbrush. Sonic ones are great if you can afford one.

Mouth bacteria travels through out your entire body. It doesn’t take very long at all to reach your brain.

Gut health, oral health, (taking care of your mouth and teeth and using probiotics at least when you are on antibiotics), could all help,
