6. I didn't know it was a series

There was a film noire movie of the same name made in 1948. It had a pretty lightweight plot, and lots of scenes from New York, with real people doing real things.

I was fascinated with the scenes of NY from that time. Living conditions seemed really basic, but everyone seemed pretty happy.
