Anyone watch "Dirty John"? It's about the Betty Broderick story. [View all]
It is not a documentary and they point this out. And it shows how Betty Broderick screwed herself multiple times and put herself and her craziness above her children's welfare. But I can't help but feel at this time that I'm glad she shot that shitty husband of hers.
At the trial there was a psychologist who talked about how infidelity can drive the other spouse mad and how, at least in her case the husband gaslighted her. During the first several years of their she did everything to help him become a big success and then after he became a big success and made a bunch of money he found a much younger version of her.
I'm still watching it so I haven't come to a complete conclusion yet but I wanted to post here to see if anyone else was watching it.
Edit: - I also just read that he changed his will before he died and specifically left off their oldest child. That sounds fairly shitty to me too. I don't think she was that old at the time.
