Emilia Perez, an unusual "musical" on Netflix [View all]

It won a Golden Globe the other night so we decided to watch it. I knew it involved a trans character and that it was a synthesis of different genres before we started it. I found it quite creative and well acted, although the plot wasn’t entirely believable nor the tunes memorable. I enjoyed the chances it took, but I can’t say it’s a film I’d recommend to everyone. I’ve seen other films by the same director and have generally enjoyed them; they always have great cinematography and offbeat methods of storytelling. Anyone else watch it?
