It’s based on a true story by USAF Col. James Burton on the development of the Bradley. The Army needed a new Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) to replace the 113. The 113 is a workhorse but it’s too small, not heavily enough armored, and only had a 50 Cal behind and armored plate. They started with the body and armor and then everyone (Congress) jumped in the money pool. The engine will be made here the transmission here. How about a turret? Oooh then it needs a 25 mm made here, How about an anti-tank missile (TOW) made here? Etc.

Truth be told the Bradley is a good vehicle. It outperformed the Abrams A1 in the desert and in the tighter cities in both wars and the Ukrainians have quickly adapted it and to it with the few they got. Very versatile though loud and with the right training can be very accurate and lethal. I was a gunner on Bradley (Cav) never missed - good training.
